Islamabad, August 21, 2025 – Denmark’s Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Mr. Peter Emil Nielsen, hosted a dinner reception in honor of a high-level delegation from the Danish Energy Agency (DEA), led by Mr. Carl-Christian Munk-Nielsen. The event brought together key stakeholders, including Federal Minister for Climate Change, Dr. Musadik Masood Malik, Minister of State at the Ministry of Climate Change, Dr. Shezra Ali Khan, and Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on Power, Mr. Muhammad Ali.

During the reception, Mr. Nielsen expressed condolences to the people of Pakistan for the recent devastating floods and emphasized the urgent need for climate action. He highlighted the success of the Danish Energy Transition Initiative (DETI) and announced plans to expand Denmark-Pakistan cooperation in the energy sector through a Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) program.

Dr. Musadik Masood Malik welcomed Denmark’s continued engagement in Pakistan’s energy and climate transition, stressing the importance of international partnerships in addressing shared challenges. Mr. Carl-Christian Munk-Nielsen outlined potential areas of future cooperation, including renewable energy development, energy efficiency, and climate resilience.

The reception facilitated dialogue among government officials, development partners, and stakeholders, reinforcing the shared commitment to a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.
